Careers
As a key developer of talent, a leading innovator and trusted provider of health care in the Greater Cincinnati area, UC Health offers a wide variety of career opportunities for both prospective employees and transfers within the organization.

Dr. Bob Wones Wins Leadership in Patient Safety Award
Dr. Bob Wones’ leadership and innovative thinking in the areas of patient safety and quality earned him the Dr. Smith Leadership in Patient Satey Award. His thoughtful and methodical approach to resolving complex issues earned him this recognition, which he so richly deserves. As further evidence of his highly effective leadership, Thompson Reuters last year named the Health Alliance one of the top 10 health systems in the United States for clinical quality and efficiency.
For nearly 30 years, Dr. Wones has served University Hospital, the University of Cincinnati, the Health Alliance, the Greater Cincinnati Health Council and many other healthcare institutions within our region and beyond as a physician, a professor, a senior leader, an advisor, a researcher, a scholar, and a volunteer. His award is recognition of his significant contributions to our organization and to the field of medicine and patient care generally. Our mission is based on the work of dedicated leaders just as Dr. Wones, who continually demonstrate integrity, a passion for exemplary healthcare practices as well as a commitment to always doing what is right for the patient.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Wones has exemplified these qualities and has committed himself to ensuring that all patients receive optimal healthcare services in a safe, respectful and efficient manner. His patient care practices and outstanding leadership ability make him a role model for those who have had the pleasure of interacting with him. On behalf of a grateful community and organization, I thank Dr. Wones for his work and countless contributions to patient safety and the field of medicine. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Wones on this well-deserved honor.
