Angela Fitch, MD, has been named vice president of UC Health’s Primary Care Network, effective Feb. 1, 2016. She replaces Nita Walker, MD, who in September 2015 assumed the newly created position of senior vice president for ambulatory services at UC Health.

As vice president of the Primary Care Network, Fitch will lead UC Health’s 18 primary care practices and our more than 70 primary care providers across Cincinnati and in Northern Kentucky and West Chester.

Fitch joined UC Health in September 2013 and is an associate professor of internal medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Board-certified in pediatrics, internal medicine and obesity medicine, she has served as director of medical weight management at the UC Health Weight Loss Center and is the medical director of the Executive Health and Wellness Program at UC Health’s Midtown location.

She completed her residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics at UC College of Medicine and was chief resident of internal medicine. Prior to returning to Cincinnati in 2013, she was a busy primary care physician at a large health system affiliated with the University of Minnesota. There, she was instrumental in the redesign of primary care delivery as one of the first accountable care pilot organizations.

“Dr. Fitch has demonstrated outstanding skills as a collaborator and thoughtful program leader in these positions,” said Myles Pensak, MD, chief of physician services at UC Health. “It is with enthusiasm that we look forward to her strategic building and maturing of our outstanding UC Health Primary Care Network.”
