Dr. Caleb Adler Comments on Psychological Effects of Boston Bombings

According to Cincinnati Fire Department Special Operations Chief, Tom Lakamp, calls to the Cincinnati Bomb Squad regarding suspicious packages have increased since the April 15 Boston Marathon Bombing. Dr. Caleb Adler explains, “It’s natural to be nervous, these things aren’t fully rational.” Dr. Adler says that the immediate availability of pictures, video and information surrounding the tragedy can have both positive and negative effects. These images could have a negative affect on things like sleep, mood, and appetite for people across the country.
