The physicians, researchers, managers and associates of the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute extend a heartfelt “thank you” to all of our friends who have helped make 2010 such a rewarding year. With your help, we have continued to accelerate our efforts to provide the best treatments available to our patients while aggressively pursuing new therapies and potential cures for neurological disease.

We are proud and humbled to announce that we have raised more than $800,000 this year through individual donations, our community fundraisers, and individual funds named in honor of current and former patients.

Our fundraising total included:

  • $140,000 raised by the fourth annual Research Innovations for an Epilepsy Cure, which supports research at the Epilepsy Center at the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute.
  • $120,000 raised by the seventh annual Sunflower Revolution events, which support research and education at the James J. and Joan A. Gardner Family Center for Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders.
  • $109,000 raised by the inaugural Walk Ahead for a Brain Tumor Cure, which supports research and education at the Brain Tumor Center at the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute.

We thank all of the sponsors, donors and volunteers whose contributions have magnified our research efforts and our ability to educate the public about neurological disease.

With our most sincere best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year,

John M. Tew, MD, and Joseph Broderick, MD and the entire UCNI Team
