Dr. Michael Thomas Receives “Man of Honor” Award

Michael Thomas, MD, executive vice chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and chief of the division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, was presented a 2019 Man of Honor Award by Richard Lofgren, MD, UC Health president and CEO, and The Abercrumbie Group on Saturday, Nov. 16. This award celebrates the accomplishments of extraordinary African American men who have succeeded against all odds and achieved special greatness.

For more than 30 years, Dr. Thomas helped move UC Health forward in our unique role as the region’s academic health system.

Through his clinical care, research and teaching, he has guided patients and offered them hope when they’ve faced serious and complex health and infertility challenges.

He is one of our nation’s leading fertility specialists and a skilled and empathetic physician.

A fellow physician, who has worked side-by-side with Dr. Thomas for 25 years, shared the following: “Dr. Thomas is the essence of what a physician, clinician, educator and researcher should be. He is a man of his word, a man who has cared for women through a foundational belief in dignity and respect. He embodies all that a physician could ever hope to be.”

At UC Health, we advance healing and reduce suffering by providing world-class patient care delivered with compassion.

It’s our purpose, and one Dr. Thomas lives into every single day.
