Register for a Daddy Boot Camp workshop to learn new, first-time fatherhood tips and tricks

Learn new tips for surviving the first months of parenthood at the Boot Camp for New Dads workshop.

Join nurses and staff at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for a Daddy Boot Camp workshop. This boot camp for new dads is a workshop designed to help men step up to the challenges of fatherhood.

Started in 2017, this workshop is hosted as part of the childbirth education team and is one of four classes available to expectant or new parents. Offered every-other month on Saturday mornings and Monday evenings, the registration fee is $20 per person ($15 for UC Health employees.)

UC Health’s Daddy Boot Camp workshop provides new dads with the opportunity to work side-by-side with veteran dads to learn how they made it through the first months of parenthood. The workshop will cover topics on everything from how to handle a baby to topics like post-partum depression and other issues new dads may not even know existed.

Other topics discussed in the workshop include:

  • Changes in new mom.
  • Handling a newborn.
  • Finding work-home balance.
  • Introducing pets to baby.
  • Safety issues.
  • Working and being a dad.
  • Your relationship with mom.
  • Feeding and changing.
  • How to calm a crying baby.
  • Handling parents and in-laws.

No topic is off limits and no question is a bad question in this men-only environment. One previous boot camp participant describes his boot camp experience as “…a safe, nonjudgmental space where guys could ask a plethora of questions and receive real, down-to-earth answers.”

Register to attend a Daddy Boot Camp workshop at UC Medical Center to learn more about how to gain confidence as a new dad-to-be.
