Team-Building Event a Roaring Success

Philip Theodosopoulos, MD, a top qualifier, prepares for the 15-lap finale.

For the second straight year, the UC Brain Tumor Team-Building Event brought supporters, clinicians, management and staff together for lunch and an afternoon of karting at the Motorsports Country Club in Batavia, Ohio. The storm clouds broke for the occasion, and team members had a chance to rev up their engines without worrying about stoplights or coplights.

The Team-Building Event began with a tour around the track by Community Advisory Board member Kathy Beechem and honorary Grand Marshall Nancy McMahon, RN, a Brain Tumor Center nurse.

Leaders from the four preliminary races competed in the final race, the “Wally Pagan Race of Champions,” which was won by Don Bailey. Jerry Schinaman placed second and Luke Pater, MD, a future radiation oncologist with the UC Brain Tumor Center, was third.

The Brain Tumor Center thanks its event sponsors and commends Kirsten Holloway, Administrative Assistant, who organized the event and ensured that it came off without a hitch. “It was the most fun event I have been to with my co-workers!” Ms. Holloway said. “We’re fortunate to have such a dedicated team of staff, physicians and board members. Having everyone together in one place to really ‘let loose’ is what made it such a fun event. It seemed like all who attended had a really great time.”
