Team-building event provides challenge, fun, and comraderie

People riding in a convertibleAfter a light lunch, Kathy Beechem, Advisory Board Chair, escorted race Grand Marshall Wally Pagan and wife Teri around the track while Dr. Ron Warnick, Director of the UC Brain Tumor Center, provided background on Wally and set the stage for the day.  Once Wally shouted, “Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines!,”  the group was divided into teams of individuals from different areas of the center, which was a great opportunity to get to know one another.

“One thing I learned at this event is that this is a very competitive group,” Dr. Warnick said after the event. “But aside from a few bruises or sore muscles, most people have told me what they enjoyed most about the day was getting to know each other better. So I think we accomplished our goal.”

The Brain Tumor Center sends a big thank you to all of the sponsors for this event, as well as everyone who joined in the fun with their Brain Tumor Center colleagues!

The next opportunity to come together with the Brain Tumor Center team will be on Sunday, October 10, for the Walk Ahead for a Brain Tumor Cure, a 5k Walk/Run event in downtown Newport/Cincinnati. You can join a team or show your support by logging on to  See you there!
