Angelo Colosimo, MD

Dr. Angelo Colosimo is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. He also has Board Certification in the Subspecialty of Sports Medicine. He obtained his undergraduate education at Colgate University in 1980. He received his MD at New York University Medical School in 1984 and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at Duke University in 1990. While at Duke, his first two years of residency were in General Thoracic Surgery and his third, fourth and fifth year were in Orthopaedic Surgery, as well as his chief residency. He did his Sports Medicine Fellowship Training at Kentucky Sports Medicine Clinic in Lexington, Kentucky, completing this in June 1991. Dr. Colosimo isthe Director, Division of Sports Medicine at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He supervises residents, fellows and athletic training student in a clinical and didactic teaching setting. He is Co-Director of the Wellington, University of Cincinnati Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. This joint program teaches Orthopaedic Surgeons of tomorrow all the necessary skills before they step out on their own. Dr. Colosimo spent five years as the Head Team Orthopaedic Surgeon for the National Football League and the Cincinnati Bengals. Since coming to the University of Cincinnati in 1991, he has been the Head Team Orthopaedic Surgeon for the University of Cincinnati Bearcat Athletics and is now the Director of Orthopaedic Services. He is also the team physician for over twenty high schools in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area.
