Sarah Gallucci, DO, is an experienced internal medicine physician, specializing in sleep medicine. Dr. Gallucci chose to specialize in sleep medicine because sleep is a vital component to our overall health and well-being and is often neglected. She recognizes that when you are not getting sufficient or good quality sleep, it can affect everything from endocrine, cardiac and pulmonary function to mood and cognition. Poor sleep can affect our relationships with others, as well as daily functions like performance in work and school.
She explains that when you get the opportunity to help a patient with sleep issues, the results can be life-changing.
Dr. Gallucci has worked in the medical field for 20 years, starting out as a medical receptionist and then MRI and nuclear medicine technologist prior to attending medical school.
She earned her medical degree from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She completed her fellowship at Temple University Hospital with a focus in sleep medicine.
Outside of the health system, Dr. Gallucci enjoys visiting new restaurants and trying different types of food. The more unique, the better.
