John  Kitzmiller, MD

Dr. Kitzmiller Professor Emeritus of Plastic Surgery and Chief of the Section of Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand and Burn Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.  He also serves as past Chief of Staff Elect of UC Medical Center.

Dr. Kitzmiller was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha as faculty in 2002 and received the 2010 Leonard J. Towe Award for Humanism from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He has served as President of the Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Kitzmiller’s core mission is to provide access to the best options for reconstructive surgery after trauma or cancer treatment for persons of all backgrounds. He has special interests in best practices for resident training in cosmetic surgery and health care reform and improvement through education.
