Ali (Alec) Kord, MD, is trained in vascular and interventional radiology. Vascular and interventional radiology is an expanding and technology-based field which offers minimally invasive treatments to a variety of diseases and in different age groups. This field is rapidly growing and evolving with new technologies and opens new windows to patients who may not be a surgical candidate and with less risk, less pain and shorter hospital stays than surgery.
Dr. Kord has written 102 publications (book chapters, manuscripts and abstracts) for which he has received the RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award in recognition of outstanding radiologic research in 2020 and graduated with distinction in research and scholarship from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
To him, each patient is unique and needs individual treatments targeted to his or her body. Dr. Kord’s personal philosophy is similar to the objective of interventional radiology, which is to provide patients with the same or better outcome than invasive surgeries with the lowest possible risks.
In his free time, he enjoys hiking, being outdoors and appreciating nature.
