Abhinav Sidana, MD is an Associate Professor and Director of Urologic Oncology in the Division of Urology at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. His clinical practice includes both surgical and non-operative management of prostate and kidney cancers. He is one of the highest volume robotic surgeons in the area. Dr. Sidana is a pioneer and nationally renowned for a newer treatment strategy called Focal Therapy of prostate cancer. He has an extensive experience with cryoablation, High Intensity Focused Ultrasound ablation (HIFU) and Irreversible electroporation of prostate.
Dr. Sidana is actively involved in urologic cancer research and his interests include functional prostate imaging, image-guided and focal treatments for prostate cancer and clinical trials on novel treatments for urologic cancers. Dr Sidana is the Course Director for Frontiers in Oncologic Prostate Care and Ablative Local Therapy (FOCAL) meeting aimed to provide both the theoretical and hands on training to the urologists interested in incorporating focal therapy as a management option for their patients. He also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Research Committee for the International Focal Therapy Society and leads an international multi-institutional prospective registry for patients undergoing ablative therapy for prostate cancer.
