Help Along the Way

Answers to Your Nasal Reconstruction Questions

Nasal reconstruction is a type of surgery used to restore form and function of the nose after an injury, surgery or cancer. Nasal reconstruction is a very complex surgery, and it is critical that a surgeon is deeply trained to rebuild this very defining feature of the face.

There are a variety of things that can cause a nasal deformity, such as:

  • Trauma or injury.
  • Previous rhinoplasty surgery.
  • Cancer surgery.
  • Congenital defects.

Healing is slow and gradual. You may have some swelling for months, especially in the tip of the nose. The final results of nasal surgery may not be apparent for a year or more.
