West Chester Hospital Summer Educational Health Program – In conjunction with Cancer Support Community

West Chester Hospital is partnering with Cancer Support Community to offer a monthly educational health series featuring physicians and other health care professionals who will speak about a variety of cancer-related topics.

“Living with Diabetes & Cancer” – Jackie Brown, RN, West Chester Hospital

Jackie Brown, RN, developed and launched the Diabetes Management Program at West Chester Hospital. Jackie, who is a diabetes expert as well as a certified wound care nurse, will discuss living with diabetes and cancer.

She will address questions including:

  • What happens to the body when you are living with both diabetes and cancer?
  • How does cancer affect blood sugar levels?
  • Can chemotherapy, radiation or other cancer medications impact your diabetes management?
  • How can one best manage diabetes while undergoing cancer treatment?

A question-and-answer session will be held after the presentation.
