The goal of UC Health Integrative Medicine is to help the whole person achieve overall wellness. UC Health Integrative Medicine Yoga Therapy is different than local yoga studios. Our yoga therapists are trained in working with medical conditions such as recovery from surgery, diabetes, high blood pressure and depression/anxiety. Our classes are ideal for those interested in adding yoga into their wellness plan regardless of age or fitness level.

Private Relaxation Yoga Classes are held weekly on Fridays from 12:15 – 2:30 p.m. Classes are located in the UC Health Physicians Office South, 4th Floor. Your instructor is Karen Johns, a registered yoga teacher.

Private Relaxation Yoga (12:15 – 1:15 p.m. and 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.)

Our bodies are not designed to be in a constant state of stress, yet for many of us this has become “normal”. This is a deeply relaxing, gentle class open to anyone who needs an opportunity to receive and gather energy rather than expend it. Class will occur mostly on the floor utilizing props (blankets, bolsters and blocks) to support the body completely so that releases occur with the help of gravity rather than effort. Music, meditation, visualization and breathing techniques will be used to enhance relaxation. Please note: this is NOT a class designed for fitness.
