The complexity of many diseases and disorders require an intense multidisciplinary approach to research, treatment, individualized patient care, and education of current and future caregivers. UC Health has four institutes dedicated to complex issues where expert physicians come together with researchers from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine to make true breakthroughs in medicine.
University of Cincinnati Cancer Institute – give to a team of interdisciplinary physicians dedicated to bringing the highest level of cancer care to the metropolitan area, so that no patient needs to go outside for treatment, even for the most complex of cases.
The UC Cancer Institute is home to the Brain Tumor Center, Breast Cancer Center, Gastrointestinal Cancer Center, Lung Cancer Center, Head and Neck Cancer Center.
University of Cincinnati Heart, Lung, and Vascular Institute – The UC Heart, Lung, and Vascular Institute is home to the Atrial Fibrillation Center, Heart Failure Treatment Center, and Cardiac Rehabilitation Center.
University of Cincinnati Gardner Neuroscience Institute – give to an institute that has created national models for evidence-based treatment and research of complex conditions, including stroke, brain aneurysms, brain and spinal cord trauma, brain tumors, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy and seizure disorders, multiple sclerosis and trigeminal neuralgia.
The UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute is home to the Brain Tumor Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Epilepsy Center, Memory Disorder Center, Mood Disorder Center, Neurosensory Disorders Center, Neurotrauma Center, Gardner Center for Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders, and Waddell Center for Multiple Sclerosis.
