{"id":33,"date":"2014-01-21T18:42:38","date_gmt":"2014-01-21T18:42:38","guid":{"rendered":"\/perioperative\/?page_id=33"},"modified":"2018-08-03T17:39:31","modified_gmt":"2018-08-03T17:39:31","slug":"for-providers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.uchealth.com\/perioperative\/for-providers\/","title":{"rendered":"For Providers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-158 alignright\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2014\/01\/shutterstock_107889164-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"shutterstock_107889164\" width=\"160\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2014\/01\/shutterstock_107889164-200x300.jpg 200w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2014\/01\/shutterstock_107889164.jpg 667w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 160px) 100vw, 160px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>For Providers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Surgeons and proceduralists requesting anesthesia services can refer a patient to the Center for Perioperative Care (CPC) prior to their procedure.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What is the Center for Perioperative Care (CPC)?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hospital based clinic operated in part by the Department of Anesthesia in conjunction with Perioperative Services of UC Health.<\/li>\n<li>It functions to standardize and coordinate the preoperative process through UC Health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What we do at the CPC?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate perioperative care for patients, collaborate with surgeons, medical subspecialists and day-of-surgery anesthesiologists to make sure patient has a defined perioperative plan.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure medical optimization and, risk stratify (no \u201cclearance\u201d) based on patient and surgical factors.<\/li>\n<li>Perform the day-of-surgery RN intake process (medication reconciliation, intake questions), as well as provide preoperative instructions.<\/li>\n<li>Provide a location for lab draws and ECG.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Why is there a need for the CPC?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some of our patients have straight-forward medical issues with little impact on perioperative care.
