During your visit the nurse will review your medications and what to expect during your hospital stay. Any lab work that needs to be completed prior to surgery will also be done at this time.<\/p>\n<p>A review of your medical history and a physical exam is required no more than 30 days prior to your scheduled procedure. Therefore, if requested by your surgeon, a CPC nurse practitioner or physician assistant will perform the history and physical during your visit.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, if requested by you or your surgeon, an anesthesia provider will review your medical history, perform a focused physician exam, explain the anesthetic and pain control options available to you and answer any questions that you may have about anesthesia.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on your procedure and\/or medical history, you may require further tests, such as blood work, an electrocardiogram or a chest X-ray. If required, these tests will be completed during your CPC visit.<\/p>\n<p>Unless it is otherwise specified, it is not necessary to fast prior to your CPC visit.<\/p>\n<h3>Be sure to bring all the following information to your CPC visit:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A list of medications you take on a regular basis, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbals. If you prefer, you may instead bring your original prescription containers to your visit.<\/li>\n<li>A list of your doctors and their phone numbers, in case our clinicians need to contact your primary medical providers.<\/li>\n<li>Current insurance cards.
