Diabetes Management Program Offered at West Chester Hospital

Enroll Now for December Classes

For those who are newly-diagnosed with diabetes or those who have diabetes and need a refresher course, West Chester Hospital is offering a three-part comprehensive series of classes in December to help people manage their disease.

A variety of topics will be discussed including: carbohydrate counting, how to achieve better results with medication, a review of newly released medications, making smart choices when dining out, and how to start (or improve) an activity program. Other areas of discussion will include the psychological and social aspects of living with diabetes as well as how to best take control of the disease. The program is presented by a diabetes nurse educator and a clinical pharmacist.

West Chester Hospital also hosts a free diabetes support group for the community on the first Tuesday of each month. The next support group session will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the hospital’s cafeteria located on level A. The support group serves as a forum for sharing and discussion and often features guest speakers. No registration is required.
