Free Cancer Educational Program Offered at West Chester Hospital on June 13

West Chester Hospital and Cancer Support Community of Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky are partnering to bring support, education and information to cancer patients, cancer survivors, and to members of the local community who have been touched by cancer.

The two organizations are offering a free cancer education program, entitled “What Is the Difference Between Hospice and Palliative Care?” on Saturday, June 13.

Understanding hospice and palliative care can often be confusing and emotional. This presentation by Kerry Caito, LISW, of Cancer Support Community, will inform attendees on the differences between these two areas of care, as well as provide information about the resources which are available. With over 11 years of direct experience with hospice care and over 20 years of social work experience, Caito will answer  a variety of questions and empower attendees with significant information.

This free series is offered throughout the year at West Chester Hospital and features informal presentations by physicians and other health care professionals in a casual and relaxed environment. Presenters speak about a variety of pertinent cancer-related topics. Representatives from Cancer Support Community and West Chester Hospital are available to discuss the challenges of a cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery, as well as provide information about their cancer programs and services.
