Free Heartburn Seminar Hosted by West Chester Hospital

West Chester, OH – More than 60 million Americans experience acid reflux, a chronic irritation of the lining of the esophagus by stomach acid, at least once a month. While the burning sensation from reflux can be uncomfortable and annoying, it can also have serious health consequences, including esophagitis and a pre-cancerous condition known as Barrett’s esophagus.

On Saturday, November 19, West Chester Hospital will present a free seminar featuring the region’s leading gastroenterology physicians, who specialize in diagnosing and treating diseases of the digestive organs, including the stomach and esophagus. Helpful information will be provided about acid reflux, heartburn and the serious health risks associated with these conditions.

A variety of questions will be answered, such as:

  • What does heartburn feel like?
  • When should I consult my doctor about it?
  • What is gastroesophageal reflux disease and how is it treated?
  • Besides heartburn, what are other symptoms of reflux disease?
  • How are reflux and heartburn associated to cancer?
  • What are the latest treatments for these conditions?

WHEN:   Saturday, November 19, 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
WHERE:   West Chester Hospital, Plaza Conference Room
7700 University Drive
West Chester, Ohio 45069

Space is limited for this free event. Seats can be reserved by calling (513) 298-3000 by November 17. Refreshments will be provided.
