CINCINNATI—What has four wheels and could save your life?

The answer to this riddle will be showcased on Thursday, Oct. 25, as UC Health unveils its brand new mobile mammography unit.

Equipped with state of the art 3D mammography technology, this 40-foot-long, 12-foot-tall unit will be officially revealed to the public during an event being held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the UC Health Business Center parking lot, 3200 Burnet Ave.

Attendees of the celebration will be able to tour the new van, and Rosie Red and the University of Cincinnati cheer team will be on site for the celebration.

Additionally, from 1 to 4 p.m., mammograms will be offered; appointments and walk-ons are both being accepted.

“We’re extremely excited to showcase this new van for the community,” says Lawrence Sobel, MD, assistant professor in the Department of Radiology and director of breast imaging for UC Health. “This provides us with more opportunities to expand our services in a more convenient way for patients, with hopes of preventing cancer or catching it in its earliest stages.”

To schedule an appointment to get your mammogram, call 513-584-7465 (PINK).
