New Year, New Healthier You Campaign Promotes Women’s Health

West Chester, OH – During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, typically held in October, women are frequently reminded to receive a mammogram. The Women’s Imaging Center at West Chester Hospital wants women to think about the importance of breast cancer screening year-round. To encourage awareness about the importance of breast health, West Chester Hospital will launch a new campaign in early January. Women who schedule their mammograms with the hospital during January and February will be entered to win a “New Year, New (Healthier) You” prize package, including:

  • A pair of NAOT shoes from Foot Solutions of West Chester
  • A two-month membership at Curves®
  • Hair cut and color by Ambience Salon Spa
  • Boost teeth whitening by Afinia Dental of West Chester
  • A nutritional counseling session with a West Chester Hospital registered dietician

In addition, West Chester Hospital is partnering with the Cincinnati Breast Cancer Alliance to display their Wall of Hope in the hospital throughout January. The Wall will go up on Wednesday, January 5, in the main lobby of the hospital and will remain open to the public all month long. Through photos and essays, the Wall of Hope depicts the stories of approximately 150 breast cancer survivors from the greater Cincinnati area. The large display makes a strong statement about the need for screening and early detection of breast cancer in order to save lives.

According to the American Cancer Society, women age 40 and older should have a screening mammogram every year. Women between 20 and 39 should have a clinical breast exam every three years, and all women should perform breast self-exams frequently beginning at age 20.

West Chester Hospital’s dedicated Women’s Imaging Center includes digital mammography, DEXA bone-density scanning, ultrasound, and stereotactic biopsy, and utilizes the most technologically advanced equipment available, as well as a highly-trained and compassionate imaging staff. Schedule your mammogram today by calling 513-298-FAST (3278).
