This appointment recognizes the significant contributions he has made to West Chester Hospital.”

Dr. Joseph previously served as the Director of Emergency Services at West Chester Hospital and has played an integral role in the development of the hospital since the earliest stages of its planning and opening last year. He earned his medical degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency at the UC College of Medicine. Initially he will have a key role in the selection, planning and rollout of UC Health’s new IT/HIS system. He will also assist with the study and implementation of the integration of UC Physicians with UC Health, and work with the CEO and UC Health’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development, Gayla Harvey, on the development of the system’s strategic plan. As this will be a part-time position, Dr. Edwards will remain the chairman of the UC College of Medicine’s Department of Surgery and Surgeon in Chief of University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

“Dr. Edwards’ knowledge and experience in academic medicine will be critical as we form UC Health and begin implementing key strategic initiatives that will position us strongly in the market. I am delighted that he has agreed to serve on my leadership team” said Mr. Kingsbury.
