UC Health joins Cincinnati’s first lady in health initiative

CINCINNATI, OHIO – UC Health is proud to join Cincinnati’s First Lady, Dena Cranley, in announcing the 2015 First Ladies Health Initiative.   The announcement will be made on Oct. 9th at City Hall.

The First Ladies Health Initiative is designed to reduce health disparities in minority populations, with a focus on African-American residents.  The announcement will lay out the details of this year’s First Ladies Health Initiative Health Day which will be held later this month. Those details will include the names and locations of participating churches, as well as the health screenings to be provided.

Health Day will feature 18 churches and more than 800 volunteers. UC Health will join the more than 40 community partners in providing free screenings and information to church goers and local residents. UC Health physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals will be at multiple sites to provide information and answer questions.

Cranley is co-chairing the program with Barbara Lynch of New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
