UnitedHealthcare, UC Health Extend Agreement, Giving Health Plan Customers Continued Access to Care At Uc Physicians and UC Health Hospitals

CINCINNATI (Jan. 25, 2011) – UnitedHealthcare and UC Health have extended their network relationship in a multi-year agreement, giving UnitedHealthcare commercial and Medicare plan participants continued access to UC Physicians and UC Health’s hospitals.

UC Physicians is the University of Cincinnati’s practice plan and the region’s largest multispecialty group.  UC Health hospitals include University of Cincinnati Medical Center, West Chester Hospital, Drake Center and the UC Health Surgical Hospital. The hospitals of UC Health represent Cincinnati’s only academic health system, offering unique health care services and programs including the region’s only adult, Level I Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center; the UC Neuroscience Institute; the UC Cancer Institute, which is home to Cincinnati’s only adult, phase 1 clinical trial program; the UC Cardiovascular Institute; and Cincinnati’s only accredited adult burn center.
