West Chester, OH – The Women’s Imaging Center at West Chester Hospital will kick off its second annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign this October to encourage women to get their annual screening mammogram. As a bonus, any woman who schedules her mammogram with us in October or November will receive:

  • A pink tote bag for our first 100 new patients
  • A pink makeup bag, a personal planner and a rose from Oberer’s Flowers
  • A free dessert and beverage, plus an additional 10% off any purchase from our Gift Shop
  • A chance to win a DaVinci bracelet ($100 value)
  • And a chance to win a “Queen for Day” drawing, including a limo ride from A Touch of Class Limousines and lunch for four at Sultan’s Mediterranean Cuisine; a manicure and pedicure for four at Ambience Salon Spa; a full house cleaning provided by The Maids ($300 value); and a gift certificate for Dress Barn!

For women who are uninsured or underinsured, West Chester Hospital may be able to help provide your mammogram for free or at a discounted price. WCH is a recipient of the American Cancer Society’s Breast Education and Screening Together (B.E.S.T.) grant, which funds mammograms for low-income women. To be eligible for a grant-funded mammogram, a woman must have a household income less than or equal to 250% of the Federal Poverty Level, and be between 40 and 64 years old, or between 35-39 with a high-risk of developing breast cancer as determined by a physician.

Another option is to ask about our Women’s Services Fund, which raises money through t-shirt sales to pay for mammograms for women who can’t afford them. The Gift Shop at West Chester Hospital will sell limited-edition breast cancer awareness t-shirts for $10, with $5 of every purchase donated to the Women’s Services Fund. Look for hospital associates in pink and white t-shirts throughout the campaign as they show their support for finding a cure and helping women in our community.

According to the American Cancer Society, women age 40 and older should have a screening mammogram every year. Women between 20 and 39 should have a clinical breast exam about every three years, and all women should perform breast self-exams frequently beginning at age 20 and continuing the rest of their lives.

West Chester Hospital’s dedicated Women’s Imaging Center includes digital mammography, DEXA bone-density scanning, ultrasound, and stereotactic biopsy, and utilizes the most technologically advanced equipment and a highly trained imaging staff in our area. Schedule your mammogram today by calling 513-298-FAST (3278).
