The concept of innervated free flap reconstruction for breasts was first introduced by in 1999 (13). DUe to the complexity of autologous breast reconstruction, adding sensation to the flap was largely abandoned until recently. Due to improvements in nerve allografts, the potential to innervate breast flaps has become relatively simple. Our study proposes to examine two different systems to measuring breast sensation to ensure the reproducibility of the instruments for a future interventional study. We plan to enroll a total of 20 patients, with varying histories of having had operative interventions on their breasts, including mastectomy with or without reconstruction.
