It has now become one of the greatest medical challenges of our generation. According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), more than 40% of the U.S. adult population is clinically obese and more than two thirds of the population faces weight issues.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><!-- \/.stebystep -->[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]<div class=\"stepbystep image-right\"><div class=\"row\"><div class=\"col-md-10\"><h3><em>The Physical<\/em> Consequences<\/h3><\/p>\n<p>Obesity causes type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and sleep apnea and more. We find that often, many overweight or obese people engage in less social activity and some have difficulty performing what they used to consider enjoyable activities.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><!-- \/.stebystep -->[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]<div class=\"stepbystep image-right\"><div class=\"row\"><div class=\"col-md-10\"><h3><em>Obesity is<\/em> Expensive<\/h3><\/p>\n<p>Studies show the average extra cost to an overweight or obese person can be between $2,500 and $4,800 a year depending on their gender, according to a George Washington University study. That\u2019s because an overweight or obese person usually has additional medical conditions, resulting in more doctor appointments, medications and\/or time off of work.
