It can be used to screen for  cancer and heart disease, musculoskeletal disorders, signs of  infectious disease, and for guidance of interventional procedures such  as biopsies. CT scans produce high-resolution, three-dimensional digital  images of soft tissues, bones and blood vessels in a single image.
