UC Health Raises Minimum Wage to $15 for Employees

Jan. 10, 2022

CINCINNATI - UC Health, Greater Cincinnati’s adult academic health system, has announced that it will raise the minimum wage for all employees to $15 per hour beginning Jan. 9.

“At UC Health, we are proud of the work our employees and clinicians do to care for others. We know our employees have a choice about where they work – and we are committed to investing in and supporting each of our team members,” said Richard P. Lofgren, MD, UC Health president & CEO. “This increase is one of many things we offer as a market leader in our total rewards and benefits package.”

Approximately 200 of UC Health’s more than 10,000 non-provider employees will receive a pay increase. The increase will take effect on January 9, 2022.

UC Health has also made other changes to benefit employees, including market pay adjustments and an employee incentive program that includes a payout based on measures including patient experience, quality care indicators and employee engagement.

UC Health is Greater Cincinnati’s sixth-largest employer, with four inpatient campuses and 62 outpatient locations across the community.

“The pandemic has challenged all of us over the past two years,” Lofgren said. “We hope that this investment, in addition to our other benefit offerings, will help our employees and their families as they help care for our patients and our communities.”
