Our Commitment to Inclusion

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement

As the region’s academic health system, UC Heath advocates for the most vulnerable and underserved populations in our community. We stand together with our patients, employees and community against racism, systematic bias and unequal treatment. Change must come from all of us by living into our PRIIDE values and embracing inclusion by eliminating racism and supporting equality.

Over the past year, we’ve held listening sessions with nearly 1,000 of our employees and clinicians, to welcome their input and investment on our continued journey to support equality among our people, our patients and our community. Because at UC Health, we all play a role in providing an inclusive environment. We are better together.

Maintaining Community Connections During COVID-19

UC Health has served as a leader in the community’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Community Relations team is proud to have played an important and integral role in providing support, education and connection during this challenging time. Leaders have been active in communicating with the community throughout the year. Below is just a snapshot of some of our activities:

48th Annual Dr. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Ceremony
In lieu of an in-person 48th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration, UC Health and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine continued our tradition by releasing a series of videos celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. King as well as the 2021 Humanitarian Award winners.

The 2021 Humanitarian Award recipients included: Dr. Amy Acton, director, Kind Columbus; Jiahao Guo, founder & executive director, the Coronavirus Relief Project; and Renee Mahaffey Harris, president & CEO, the Health Gap.
