Meet the People Behind the Mission

Dec. 19, 2025

Compassion drives our care. Collaboration makes it possible.

Every person at the Freeman Center brings a story—and a calling—to this work.

Many have walked beside loved ones with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Others have dedicated their careers to removing the barriers patients face every day. Together, we’re reimagining what inclusive, person-centered care can look like.

Across disciplines and departments, our team shares one goal: helping each individual we serve feel seen, respected, and empowered. Whether coordinating complex care, offering behavioral health support, or guiding families through transitions, we work side-by-side to improve lives in meaningful ways.

This is more than healthcare. It’s a shared mission of equity, access, and human dignity. Get to know the people who make it happen.

Amy’s philosophy of care is what fueled her to focus her career on psychiatry and mental health care. “Those of us who gravitate toward and choose to work in psychiatry and mental health are intrinsically motivated to do so,” she said. “Often this drive and curiosity is initially due to some personal, family, or occupational experience or challenge that left us with no choice but to know more, do more, and advocate for more and better care. We find our people - others who choose to do this work, and then somewhere along the way we find our purpose, too”.
