Amanda  Cartee, MD

Dr. Amanda K. Cartee is an Associate Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Cincinnati. She is a clinical expert in celiac disease and small bowel disorders, with a focus on improving diagnosis, expanding access to care, and advancing treatment options.

She earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University and completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she trained in clinical research and the management of celiac disease. During her fellowship, she was selected for the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) FDA Fellowship at the FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), shaping her ongoing interest in regulatory medicine.

Dr. Cartee has held faculty positions at the University of Michigan and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she focused on expanding clinical trial access and community engagement. She currently serves as Chair of the ACG FDA Related Matters Committee and is actively involved in medical education, having served as a clinical course director for the medical school Gastroenterology module at multiple institutions.
