John Hughes, MD

John G. Hughes, MD is an experienced primary care and internal medicine physician. Dr. Hughes graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1988 and began teaching medical students and residents in 2008. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has enjoyed the challenges of general internal medicine and caring for adult patients.

Previously, Dr. Hughes was awarded the Wright State University Robert Davies Award for Teaching Excellence on three separate occasions.

Dr. Hughes appreciates the challenge of internal medicine and recognizes that there is always a great deal of information in this area to master. He aims to study and learn every day, as there is new information concerning pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment available all the time.

When thinking about what In Science Lives Hope means to him, Dr. Hughes explains that science gives us an understanding of how our bodies work and gives us new tools to treat and prevent disease. Science helps Dr. Hughes and his colleagues to communicate more effectively with their patients and understand what their patients want—all of this provides hope.  Dr. Hughes likes that the In Science Lives Hope moto stresses hope, as in his opinion hope is of the utmost importance.

Outside of the health system, Dr. Hughes is kept busy spending time with family and four adult children. His oldest is an attorney by day and participates in community theatre, which Dr. Hughes enjoys attending.
