The Advanced neuroIMaging in Subdural Hematoma (AIM-SDH) study
Criteria:
Inclusion: 1. Presence Of An Sdh Along The Convexity; No Or Minimal Trauma History. Higher Velocity Trauma Patients May Be Included If Sdh Is Isolated, And Trauma Is Remote (>2 Weeks). 2. Sdh Volume > 25Ccs; 3. Presentation Within 96 Hours Of Symptom Onset, Or Clear Worsening Of Symptoms. Exclusion: 1. Inability To Get An Mri Before Neurological Intervention (I.E. In Patients For Which Surgery Is Emergent); 2. Inability To Tolerate Mri 3. Bilateral Sdh 4. Sdhs Result From Prior Neurological Intervention, Aneurysm, Arteriovenous Malformation Or Cereberal Venous Sinus Thrombosis/Cortical Vein Thrombosis 5. Presence Of Additional Intracranial Lesions Apart From Small Amounts Of Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (I.E. No More Than 3 Cuts On A Standard 5Mm Ct Scan). 6. History Of Severe Dementia, Cancer Or Demyelinating Disease 7. Any Other Feature Which In The Opinion Of The Investigators, Would Make Interpretation Of The Mri Impossible.
