Although cochlear implantation has been a ground breaking technology to improve hearing in individuals with severe to profound hearing loss, listening ability varies tremendously between individuals fitted with cochlear implants. This study aims to understand factors that influence listening ability in cochlear implant users and investigate ways by which listening can be improved, such as via software programming changes.
