UC Health & University of Cincinnati Open the Region’s First Academic Wellness Suite and Learning Kitchen

Feb. 24, 2026

Cincinnati, OH - The Osher Center for Integrative Health at the University of Cincinnati officially opens the UC Osher Wellness Suite and Learning Kitchen on March 2, introducing a welcoming space designed to empower people to feel better, live well, and thrive every day.

The new UC Osher Wellness Suite and Learning Kitchen offers a dedicated home that empowers greater Cincinnatians to cook, move, pause, connect, and recharge through hands-on wellness experiences, all backed by science

This one-of-a-kind space connects individuals with integrative health and lifestyle medicine experts through hands-on experiences in nutrition, movement, mindfulness, the arts, and nature. Located at UC Health’s Clifton medical campus at 3232 Healing Way, it will house research-backed, personalized wellness group classes and events intended to address stress, burnout, fatigue, chronic conditions, and more, all in a calming environment where community thrives.

“The UC Osher Wellness Suite is the future of whole-person care in Cincinnati. For the first time in our region, patients, caregivers, employees, students, and the community can come together in an academic health center dedicated to transformative well-being grounded in evidence-based practices,” stated Sian Cotton, PhD, director of the Osher Center for Integrative Health at the University of Cincinnati.

Inside the UC Osher Wellness Suite

The UC Osher Wellness Suite includes intentionally designed spaces such as:

  • The John and Carrie Hayden Community Learning Kitchen is the region’s first Academic Community Learning Kitchen. This 1,409-square-foot space features five hands-on cooking stations designed for learning by doing. Teaching kitchen classes translate nutrition science into real-world skills, including blood pressure and heart-healthy cooking, cooking for cancer risk reduction and cognitive and brain health, and healthy cooking on a budget.

  • The Rooftop Healing Garden is a 1,509-square-footspace designed for reflection and small group programs such as Nature as Medicine, Seed to Harvest, and Nature-Based Reset Micro-Moments. The garden offers a peaceful space for connection, restoration, and gentle experiences that ease stress and help restore energy.

  • The Mind-Body-Spirit Wellness Studio is a 1,448-square-foot space centered around bringing people together through evidence-based, restorative experiences, including Tai Chi, yoga therapy, meditation and mindfulness practices, sound immersion therapy, music and art therapy, and cancer supportive services and spiritual care.

Wellness for Every Stage of Life

The UC Osher Wellness Suite offers accessible, affordable programs for people across life stages and health journeys.

This program serves anyone seeking practical, evidence-based ways to support evidence based ways for empowering wholeperson health—including individuals living with cancer, chronic conditions, pain, or mental health challenges, as well as caregivers, families, employees, students, and community members navigating stress or burnout. No prior experience is required, as these classes are designed to meet people where they are in their personal journeys.

The Need for Whole-Person Care

Many adults across the United States are navigating high stress, limited physical activity, and chronic conditions. More than a third of adults are living with obesity or hypertension, report no regular physical activity, and face a growing need for mental health support.

Research shows that lifestyle medicine approaches can impact up to 80% of chronic diseases, helping prevent, treat, and in some cases even reverse conditions like type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease through sustainable, evidence-based lifestyle changes.

The UC Osher Wellness Suite and Learning Kitchen was created to help people feel connected, supported, and empowered to transform their health and improve their daily lives.
