Dr. Victoria Heasley is a distinguished physician at the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute, specializing in Sports Medicine, non-operative orthopedic care, Musculoskeletal Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), and Adaptive Sports Medicine. With a unique blend of medical and engineering expertise, Dr. Heasley is dedicated to enhancing the lives of her patients through comprehensive care and innovative solutions.

Specialized Expertise, Pioneering Research

With a dedication to her patient’s well-being, Dr. Heasley serves a pivotal role in the UC Biomedical Engineering department, where she collaborates on designing and creating adaptive sports equipment. Her approach centers around collaborating with patients to achieve their goals and enhance their quality of life. Committed to advancing patient care, Dr. Heasley also actively engages in research. She believes that clinical trials play a crucial role in discovering emerging diagnostic and treatment options, shaping the future of patient care. Her research focuses on adaptive sports education and medical care for Adaptive Sports athletes, underscoring her commitment to improving patient outcomes through both clinical expertise and research contributions.

Notable Achievements

Dr. Heasley's dedication extends beyond clinical practice. She co-founded and serves as President of the non-profit "The Bridge Adaptive Sports & Recreation," highlighting her commitment to promoting inclusive sports and recreational opportunities. Her accomplishments have garnered recognition, including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) 2023 Young Investigator’s Award Research Grant, certifications in Adaptive Recreation and Sports Specialist I (CARSS™), and prestigious awards like the Joanna Reusser DO, Humanism in Medicine Award.

A Unique Approach

Dr. Heasley is one of the region's few adaptive sports physicians. She integrates medical care, sideline coverage, equipment modifications and engineering expertise. She holds a Registered in Musculoskeletal Sonography (RMSK) certification and utilizes ultrasound diagnostics and procedures for non-operative musculoskeletal care.

Collaborative Care

Dr. Heasley collaborates closely with clinical teams across disciplines, including UC Sports Medicine & Orthopedics and the UC Biomedical Engineering Department. Her approach emphasizes comprehensive care, including diagnostic evaluations, EMGs, ultrasound diagnostics scans, procedures and ultrasound-guided procedures. She believes in a team-based approach to care, collaborating closely with patients and their care teams to address concerns and create solutions.

Beyond the Clinic

Dr. Heasley's passion for sports extends to providing sideline coverage for local sports teams. Her involvement with "The Bridge Adaptive Sports & Recreation" highlights her dedication to fostering inclusivity in sports and recreation. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Cincinnati's culinary scene, traveling, and spending cherished moments with her dog, husband, family and friends.
