Dr. Robert Rossi cares for some of the most complex and high-risk pregnancies—bringing together medical expertise, innovative research, and a compassionate, patient-first approach. As Division Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, he takes the time to understand each patient’s unique journey and works closely with a team of specialists to provide care that’s personalized, supportive, and backed by the latest science.
A nationally recognized leader in maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Rossi focuses his research on preventing preterm birth and reducing serious complications during pregnancy. His current work includes developing clinical tools to better predict and manage high-risk conditions—research that helps guide decisions around delivery timing, care location, and treatment planning. He also leads clinical trials on maternal infections, prenatal risk factors for childhood allergies, immunizations for prevention of fetal infections, and other pregnancy-related concerns, and is an expert in procedures like transabdominal cerclage for prevention of preterm birth. His work has helped shape national care guidelines and continues to advance the field.

When he’s not at UC Health, Dr. Rossi enjoys life in Cincinnati with his family. You’ll often find him exploring local parks, visiting the zoo and aquarium with his kids, or running long-distance—he’s a multi-time Flying Pig Marathon finisher.
