Christopher Utz, MD

Christopher J. Utz, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and a UC Health physician. He also serves as director of quality control for the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Utz currently is the medical director for the Cincinnati Cyclones professional hockey team, head team physician for Mt. Healthy and Purcell Marion High Schools and is an assistant team physician for UC’s football program. He is board-certified by the American Orthopaedic Society, with subspecialty certification in sports medicine.

Dr. Utz currently serves as a member of the Program Education Committee with the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is on the reviewer board for the Journal of Arthroscopy and the Journal of Knee Surgery. Dr. Utz has presented at many national, regional and local conferences. He is currently active in several research projects and has over six peer-reviewed publications.
