Abid Yaqub, MD, FACP, FACE, FCPS, is an Associate of Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Yaqub is also the Medical Director of the Endocrinology practice at the UC Health Physicians Office South in West Chester, OH.
A graduate of King Edward Medical College (1994), he completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at Post Graduate Medical Institute, Lahore and received his fellowship from College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in 2000.
He proceeded to US in 2001 where he completed residency training in Internal Medicine (2004) and fellowship training in endocrinology and metabolism (2006) from Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
Prior to joining University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, he served as Program Director of the Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship at Joan C. Edwards SOM at Marshall University, Huntington WV. Dr. Yaqub is ABIM board certified in Internal Medicine with sub-specialty certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. He also holds endocrine certification in neck ultrasound (ECNU conferred by American College of Endocrinology) and is a certified clinical densitometrist (CCD conferred by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry).
He is an NRC authorized user of RAI-131 for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Dr. Yaqub's clinical interests include thyroid cancer and metabolic bone diseases.
