Early Life and Education

Aram Zabeti, MD is a board-certified neurologist, a recognized multiple sclerosis expert, and an esteemed Director and Endowed Chair at the Waddell Center for Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Dr. Zabeti's extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of neurology, with a particular focus on MS, has significantly contributed to the advancement of MS care. Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, he received his medical degree from Azad University in Tehran in 1999. Dr. Zabeti's passion and interest in multiple sclerosis led him to join the Scientific Committee where he served on the editorial board of the Iran MS Journal, organized educational programs for MS patient care, and spearheaded various scientific conferences related to MS diagnosis and treatment

U.S. Journey and Postdoctoral Fellowship

In 2005, Dr. Zabeti moved to the United States to broaden his research and clinical practice in neurodegenerative diseases. He participated in a postdoctoral fellowship program at the University of Washington, where he gained in-depth knowledge about central nervous system disorders.

Specialized Training and Certification

After completing his Neurology Residency Program at West Virginia University, Dr. Zabeti continued his pursuit of excellence in MS treatment and care by joining the Oregon Health and Science University, and the Portland VA Medical Center for an MS and neuroimmunology fellowship in 2012. Here, he worked with a large team of MS experts (6 attendings) to advance his knowledge in diagnosing and managing neuro-immunological conditions. In 2012, Dr. Zabeti received certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, affirming his status as a leading physician in his field

Contributions to the Waddell Center for MS

Dr. Zabeti joined the University of Cincinnati Gardner Neuroscience Institute in September 2013, bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience in MS care. As a director, he encourages the utilization of comprehensive care strategies such as infusion therapy, including physical and occupational therapy, advanced neuroimaging, social worker, care coordination, integrative medicine, dietician, and clinical pharmacist, to improve the quality of life of people living with MS. His continuous pursuit of new treatments for MS has led to numerous clinical trials, shaping the landscape of MS treatment.

Dr. Zabeti's efforts go beyond just clinical care and research. He has been training new MS experts through the Neuroimmunology Fellowship Program since 2018. He is also actively involved in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, emphasizing education and support resources for patients and their families. His commitment to the MS community shows his dedication to making a tangible difference in the lives of MS patients.
