About Our Program

What is Fall Prevention 101?

Fall Prevention 101 is a one-hour educational presentation offered at senior centers, churches, and community organizations across Hamilton, Butler, and Clermont Counties. The program goes over fall statistics, current research and ways to reduce fall risk at home and in the community.

Who should attend?

This program is designed for people who:

  • Are at risk of falling
  • Have a fear of falling
  • Have fallen one or more times

Caregivers, family members and others supporting older adults may also benefit.

Do I need to have fallen before to attend?

No. The program is appropriate for anyone who wants to reduce fall risk, increase confidence, or learn more about fall prevention—even if they have never fallen.

What education topics might I learn about?

  • Fall statistics and current research
  • Common fall hazards inside and outside the home
  • Vision changes and fall risk
  • Medication effects and interactions
  • Safe footwear and mobility considerations
  • Environmental safety and home modifications.

How long is the Fall Prevention 101 class?

The presentation is one hour in length, with an optional balance and strength exercise component at the end.

Is there a physical activity or exercise component?

Yes, a balance and strength exercise session can be added at the end of the presentation. Participation in the exercise portion is optional.

Where is Fall Prevention 101 offered?

Presentations are offered at senior centers, churches, and community centers throughout Hamilton, Butler and Clermont Counties.

Can this program be brought to our organization or community group?

Yes. Fall Prevention 101 is offered at a variety of community locations and can be scheduled for senior centers, churches and community organizations.

What are the benefits of attending Fall Prevention 101?

Fall Prevention 101 helps participants build confidence, identify common fall hazards, and learn practical ways to reduce fall risk.

Attendees gain a better understanding of how vision, medications, and footwear affect balance. They also learn proven strategies from experts and peers to support safer, more independent living.

Yes. A key goal of Fall Prevention 101 is helping participants feel more confident navigating their home and community safely.
