Career Journey Program

UC Health proudly offers opportunities for high school students to learn more about clinical and nonclinical healthcare careers through the UC Health Career Journeys Program at UC Medical Center.

This program offers an exciting coeducational experience to interested and eligible local high school teens.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Students gain valuable insights into the day-to-day responsibilities of a variety of clinical and non-clinical healthcare jobs over the course of several months. Each session focuses on a specific service area, ranging from those in direct patient care to those in support services.

MULTIFACETED APPROACH

The program is led by adult advisors who work at UC Health in a variety of capacities. These dedicated employees facilitate the learning process for the Career Journeys sessions by promoting greater awareness and understanding within the healthcare fields through:

  • Detailed career insights facilitated by current clinicians and support staff.
  • Educational requirements needed for various healthcare positions.
  • Behind-the-scenes tours to areas not available to the public.
  • Virtual learnings and presentations.
