3D printing has revolutionized how surgeons and other interventionalists perform complex procedures. Instead of imagining the procedure, the physician and patient can hold in their hands an exact 3D model of the disease. This can be a heart with a diseased valve, a tumor in the abdomen or prostate, or an injury of the face. 3D printing allows practice before your operation, enabling shorter procedures and recovery times. UC Health is the only health system in the region that offers 3D printing.
