Clinical Study

A Dynamic Functional Immune Assay To Evaluate The Immune Response Of A Patient With Deep Space Neck Infections (Dsni)

Posted Date: Oct 27, 2021

  • Investigator: Deepak Krishnan
  • Specialties:
  • Type of Study: Observational/Survey

Study Objectives • To determine if DSNI outcomes can be associated with temporal immune assays. • To determine if dynamic functional immune assays can predict complications in DSNI patients. • To elucidate the changes in immune capacity of a DSNI patient compared to healthy controls. • Investigate the utility of testing of potential therapeutics ex vivo using the described immune assays. A dynamic functional immune assay will be compared with clinical outcomes and adverse events to determine if these assays provide an indication of the mechanism of the immune response of patients with DSNI.

Criteria:

Eligible Patients Will Be Age 18 And Older Of Any Sex, Gender, Race, Or Ethnicity. Patients Who Present To Ucmc Emergency Department With Head And Neck Infections With Deep Neck Space Spread Requiring Surgical Treatment From The Uc Division Of Oral And Ma
