The MACRO registry will focus exclusively on patients with active acromegaly, defined operationally as an adult patient with a confirmed diagnosis of acromegaly being treated with medical therapy; or eligible to be treated with medical therapy, e.g., having an elevated IGF-1. The MACRO registry will be important for comparing different medical therapies with respect to disease- and treatment-associated symptoms, clinical characteristics of disease progression, treatment satisfaction, quality of life, work productivity, health resource utilization, breakthrough symptoms, injection-site reactions, treatment persistence/adherence, and treatment switching. Additionally, this registry will generate real-world evidence to aid payors in their decision-making process with respect to the introduction of any new oral medical therapies, under conditions of routine clinical care.
