For more than 27 years, the Drake Auxiliary has been working for the benefit of Drake Center patients. In conjunction with the Foundation, the Auxiliary uses fundraising events to support:
- Drake Center’s Pastoral Care Program
- The Homeward Bound Fund (providing services and equipment for discharged patients qualifying for assistance)
- Patients’ holiday and birthday gifts, special entertainment, and equipment including the recent purchase of a $65,000.00 custom made 10-passenger van for patient outings.
It is the goal of the Auxiliary to build a strong membership, which can assist with fundraising events such as its fashion show, auction, and special events. Our gift shop operates entirely through the efforts of our Auxiliary and other volunteer staff. All proceeds of the gift shop benefit patient care programs. Tree of Life
One example of the Auxiliary’s many fundraising projects is the Tree of Life. Located in Drake Center’s West Pavilion Lobby, the Tree of Life is a work of art with sculptured trunk, branches and inscribed leaves. It is designed to grow without bound as names are added. The perfect way to celebrate, honor or memorialize friends and family, Tree of Life leaves are available for $130 each. To place an order, call 513.418.2522
